Centerra Gold Inc. (Centerra) and Kumtor Gold Company (KGC) have summed up their operating results in the second quarter of 2017. In the first six months of 2017, KGC produced 266,023 ounces¹ or 8274.25 kg of gold and contributed more than 4.7 billion soms in taxes and mandatory payments.

Kumtor Gold Company has released the Environment and Sustainability Report for 2016.

Last weekend, employees of Kumtor Gold Company jointly with the representatives of local authorities and organizations held a subbotnik – a clean-up event on the beach of Kadji-Sai village of Ton region, Issyk-Kul oblast. In total, about 50 people took part in the clean-up event.

Residents of one of the yards in Bishkek microdistrict “Jal” have successfully introduced the separate waste collection.

Last weekend, employees of Kumtor Gold Company jointly with the municipal government and youth associations of Balykchy town cleaned up three municipal beaches.

On July 9 at 11 28 am a Mack fuel truck being convoyed as part of the regular supply deliveries to the Kumtor mine site rolled over a safety berm and slipped down from the technological road.

On June 23, 2017, as part of the Work Safe – Home Safe Program, Kumtor Gold Company’s Administration and Employee Development Department jointly with the National Red Crescent Society of the Kyrgyz Republic organized a basic safety training for children in Bishkek.

On July 4, 2017 employees of Kumtor Gold Company’s Marshalling Yard in Balykchy helped the private nursing home for the elderly “Nafile” within the framework of the corporate volunteering program “Kumtor Ambassadors”. The whole staff took part in raising money for the charity event. Kumtor employees organized a lunch for the seniors and presented them the much-needed water heater. The nursing home “Nafile” was organized by private individuals; the care institution does not receive any government support, the institution administration has to ask for help from the private companies in Balykchy. As of today, about nine people aged between 70 and 85 constantly live in the nursing home. All of them, for various reasons, have been left without shelter and care, but owing to the kind-hearted Balykchy townsfolk, who organized “Nafile” nursing home, they have a roof over their heads and care. The charitable event was attended by Jyldyz Raimkulova, Zahar Tsygankov, Ashyrbek Karagul uulu, Maksat Kadyralev, Alibek Kulataev, Katerina Kazemir, Asylkul Beysheeva.

On Saturday, June 24, 2017, employees of Administration & Employee Development, Legal and Corporate, as well as the team of Continuous Improvement of Kumtor Gold Company visited the Sokuluk Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities with a charitable purpose.
