Kumtor reports on the movement of its waste-rock dump

The Kumtor mine reports that as expected, the waste-rock dump at the mine, in the Chon-Sarytor Valley, is experiencing movement. This movement is planned for in the approved Kumtor mine expansion plan filed with the Kyrgyz Republic authorities. The movement of the waste-rock dump has recently increased and has impacted the workshops and administration facilities, located below the dump, sooner than planned.

The Company has expedited the relocation of the infrastructure to ensure continued safe operations. The employees have been moved to temporary work locations until the planned new facilities are completed. The movement of the waste dump has not affected employee safety.

The Company continues to work cooperatively with Kyrgyz Republic regulatory authorities to ensure continued compliance with applicable permits and laws.
