Kumtor provided 2,580 food packages for people with disabilities in Issyk-Kul and Chui provinces

2,580 food packages were provided by Kumtor Gold Company CJSC (KGC) to persons with disabilities in Issyk-Kul and Chui provinces.

One of Kumtor’s ongoing projects is to support vulnerable social groups. On the eve of the World Day of People with Disabilities, the company received dozens of requests for sponsorship from district administrations, social institutions and NGOs. The management of Kumtor Gold Company allocated KgS 5 million to help those in need. The KGC Sustainable Development Department purchased foodstuff and prepared gift sets that were delivered to recipients during the annual month of charity to support people with disabilities in the country.

The charity event covered the cities of Karakol, Balykchy and Cholpon-Ata, the villages of Bokonbaevo, Kyzyl-Suu and Tyup in the Issyk-Kul province, the Chuy-Tokmok training and production enterprise of the Kyrgyz Blind and the Deaf Society, and the Belovodsk Children’s Psychoneurological Social Residential Institution under the Kyrgyz Republic Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration.
