KANIMET TOKTOSUNOV: THE EPC CONTRACTOR FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TOGOLOK DEPOSIT FACILITIES IS CHINA NERIN ENGINEERING

The Chinese Engineering Company China Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd. has been engaged as the EPC Contractor for the construction of key production facilities at the Togolok Gold Deposit.

According to Kanimet Toktosunov, Chairman of the Board of Kumtor Operating Company CJSC, China Nerin Engineering was selected through an Open Bidding Process to implement a turnkey construction project for a Gold Processing Plant, a Tailings Storage Facility, a Residential Camp, and other Infrastructure Facilities for the future Mine.

“An Open Bidding Process was conducted for the construction of the Togolok Production Complex. China Nerin Engineering was selected as the Successful Bidder based on its extensive international experience in implementing similar projects. The Company will implement the project on an EPC Contract basis, which provides for the full scope of work: from design and equipment supply to construction, installation, and commissioning of the facilities,” Kanimet Toktosunov noted.

According to Kanimet Toktosunov, the construction of the main production facilities is planned to be completed within two years.

On the EPC Contract basis, China Nerin Engineering will implement the turnkey construction of a Gold Processing Plant, a Tailings Storage Facility, a Residential Camp, and other Production and Social Infrastructure Facilities at the Togolok Deposit.

The Company’s Head also emphasized that China Nerin Engineering acts solely as a Contractor and is not involved in the Deposit development.

“I would like to especially emphasize that the Chinese Сompany acts solely as a Construction Contractor. It will not be involved in gold mining. The Togolok Deposit will be developed by Kumtor Operating Company using its own resources,” Kanimet Toktosunov noted.

Kumtor Operating Company CJSC reported that China Nerin Engineering has been operating since 1986 and has extensive experience in implementing large-scale industrial projects worldwide. The Company specializes in the design and construction of facilities in mining industry, energy sector, as well as transport and industrial infrastructure. Over the years, China Nerin Engineering has successfully implemented projects in Russia, Kazakhstan, Australia, Canada, Germany, Turkey, Chile, Egypt, South Africa, and the Republic of Korea.

It is worth noting that the Togolok Deposit is one of the largest investment projects of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC. It is being developed entirely with the Company’s own funds, without attracting foreign investment or loan financing. The balance reserves of the Deposit amount to 9.928 tonnes of gold.
