A Regional KOC Cooperation Committee Held a Meeting in the Village of Bakonbayevo, Ton District
A regional KOC Cooperation Committee held a meeting in the village of Bakonbayevo, Ton district, on July 29, 2011, attended by district government officials and public representatives. Kumtor Operating Company was represented by Kerim Shatmanov, Manager, Community Relations, and Rysbek Toktogul, Manager, Finance and Accounting.
The meeting discussed technical matters related to the Kumtor-sponsored micro-credit agency, Ton Finance, to be opened soon. It interviewed candidates for the new micro-credit agency’s head and, having chosen one from among the selected candidates on a competitive basis, appointed him as the director of the Ton Finance micro-credit agency.
Ton Finance’s key objective will be to create in the Ton district conditions facilitating public access to financial resources with an eye to improving the regional economy, private business and farming.
Kumtor Gold Company provides jobs for over 4000 people.
