An independent review of the Parliamentary Commission Report (“Report”) by US-based Prizma LLC confirms that the Report‘s allegations are unfounded, wrong or exaggerated. The Report ignores results of numerous inspections and independent audits, published data and published government reports. The Prizma review also finds that the Report is unsubstantiated and unbalanced and offers no evidence for its findings.
Independent environmental experts with US-based Prizma LLC analyzed the Report about the Kumtor Mine, located in the Kyrgyz Republic. Prizma’s findings focused on seven key environmental issues discussed in the Report. These comprise:
1) Tailings Management Facility (TMF) and Petrov Lake;
2) ecology and biodiversity;
3) glaciers and water consumption;
4) groundwater and permafrost;
5) environmental management,
6) waste management;
7) data reliability and transparency.
