Kumtor Helps People with Disabilities

4783 food packages and 259 warm blankets will be distributed by the Kumtor Gold Company to people with disabilities in Chui and Issyk-Kul oblasts and in Bishkek City.
Towards the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Kumtor received over 20 donation requests. 150 blankets have already been handed over to those in need during a solemn event held on December 3, and another 109 blankets were delivered to the Alamudun Society of the Blind and Deaf on the same day. Food packages will be delivered to the recipients during the month of mercy “We are Together”, which is being conducted in the republic to support people with disabilities.
“Today, Kumtor provides regular aid to people who need such help. People see that they receive the benefits and help from companies which have really become national”, said Mr. Kudaibergen Bazarbaev, KR Minster of Labor, Social Security and Migration.
Kumtor Gold Company provides jobs for over 4000 people.
99 percent of the Company full-time employees are Kyrgyz citizens, and this proportion is ever growing as the result of foreign managerial personnel being gradually replaced by national employees.
