Kumtor employees took part in the scientific and engineering conference “The current state of and trends in mine surveying, geotechnical engineering, open-pit mining and blasting work in the Kyrgyz Republic”

A group of employees and managers of the Mine Engineering Department, Kumtor Gold Company, took part in the scientific and engineering conference titled “The Current State of and Trends in Mine Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Open-Pit Mining and Blasting Work in the Kyrgyz Republic” dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the departments “Geodesy and Mine Surveying” and the 10th anniversary of the department “Open-Pit Mining and Blasting Work” held on December 17, 2015.
Kubanych Moldobekov highlighted the significance of Kumtor Gold Company’s contribution to the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic in his address and handed, as training hardware, a number of surveyor’s instruments, including sets of Trimble 5601 tachometer and Trimble 5800 GPS, to the Mining Engineering and Technologies Institute. This was done on behalf of Kumtor Gold Company under the Corporate Social Responsibility Project and through the offices of Rodney Stuparyk, Vice President, Risk Management, Compliance and Sustainable Development.
Also, 30,000 soms in donation was handed to the management of the department “Geodesy and Mine Surveying” on behalf of Kumtor employees. This donation was their contribution to the conference and publication of a collection of studies titled “The Current State of and Trends in Mine Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Open-Pit Mining and Blasting Work in the Kyrgyz Republic.”
Director of the Mining Engineering and Technologies Institute A.K. Maralbayev and head of the department “Geodesy and Mine Surveying” I.K. Chunuyev expressed gratitude to the employees of Kumtor Gold Company for their contribution to the collection of papers as well as for their participation in the conference “The Current State of and Trends in Mine Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Open-Pit Mining and Blasting Work in the Kyrgyz Republic.” “We are grateful to the Engineering Department, and mine surveyors in particular, for their support of this event dedicated to 15th anniversary of the department “Geodesy and Mine Surveying” and the 10th anniversary of the department “Open-Pit Mining and Blasting Work”. We wish Kumtor Gold Company more professional achievements,” they said.
