Employees of Kumtor’s Procurement & Logistics Together with Local Suppliers Helped Bishkek Senior Center

Kumtor’s Ambassadors, a group of employees of Kumtor Gold Company’s Procurement & Logistics, have implemented another social project. This time, Kumtor employees together with the local suppliers helped the Bishkek Municipal Residential Social Care Facility for the Elderly and the Disabled.

The Director of this social facility had informed earlier that they were badly in need of adult diapers for men and women, as well as of washing and cleaning products. On the basis of this request, the Procurement Organizing Committee contacted the local suppliers, who have provided 48 packages of diapers totaling KGS 57,600. In turn, employees of the Logistics Department raised money (KGS 8,000) and purchased 79.8 kg of laundry detergent, 10 packages of caustic soda and 16 packages of bleacher. Kumtor’s Ambassadors delivered and handed over the above goods to the representatives of the social care facility.

The Bishkek Senior Center was established in 1961 and is designed for 300 beds. As of today, this social care facility gives shelter to 201 senior citizens, including 107 men and 94 women, whose average age is 75.
