The 7th annual Central Asia HR Brand Award ceremony was held in Almaty on October 24, 2019.

A record number of nominees, including 33 projects submitted by 30 companies from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, took part in the competition this year. The event was organized by HeadHunter, the Kazakhstan Office of a large online recruiting platform.

The projects were evaluated in two stages: individual review of projects and HR experts voting for the six best projects in each nomination and, next, selection of winners by the jury at a closed meeting. The expert panel and jury were composed of HR professionals and of CIS largest companies’ presidents.

The project evaluation and winners selection was based on the following criteria:

  • Concept importance — the subject shall be important for the company.
  • Modern implementation methods — use of optimal instruments, including innovations.
  • Relevance of final results to goals and objectives — actual results reached for business and target audience.

Kumtor has submitted a unique Work Safe | Home Safe industrial safety program. To achieve its overall goal – Zero Harm, the company is developing the culture of zero tolerance for work accidents at all of its facilities including promoting the safety culture at home.

Based on the jury’s decision, Kumtor Gold Company was awarded with the bronze price in the “World” nomination.

“This award is a recognition of importance and efficiency of the work we are doing. The value of our participation lies also in the fact that we want to share our experience that can benefit our own country and other CIS nations both in their business and social life,” said Gulmira Turdubaeva, Employee Development and Administration Manager, Kumtor Gold Company.

Central Asia HR Brand Award has been held since 2013 and remains among the best known and widely reputed awards established for HR professionals of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Its winners are granted the “Best Employer” status and recognition of peer companies while the professional community obtains an opportunity to learn more about best practices and great performance.
