On June 10, 2017, employees of Kumtor Company Procurement and Logistics Department performed a cleanup action in the Umut-Hope Children’s Rehabilitation Center, Bishkek, which had been taken under the Department’s protection in 2012. In consultation with the management of the children’s facility, the fence was renovated and painted, the area was cleaned of leaves and garbage as well as its flowerbeds were panted and trees were limewashed.

The Umut-Hope Children’s Rehabilitation Center was founded in 1989 for children with disabilities. Its specialized rehabilitation program provides children with self-care and social behavior skills as well as knowledge of school subjects and labor discipline. The Center’s children take part in various competitions organized by the city authorities, they perform concerts — in a word, lead a life just as healthy kids of the same age do. The Center receives no government’s support and still exists due to small monthly private donations.

Noteworthily, quite a number of partner companies responded to Kumtor Company’s call to join the cleanup action, including Stroy Complect Montazh, Aico-Seico, Cross Inc., Rapsody and Shakirov, which took active part in the action, provided paints, brushes and other materials, floor pads to cover the play room and renovated the ceiling in one of the rooms.

Thus, a good example of team work with partners was displayed. More than 40 people took part in the action. The area of the Children’s Center was thus renewed by joint effort!
