On Saturday evening, June 2, 2012, transport communication with Kumtor mine was restored.
After two days of negotiations of representatives of the Government of the Republic, Prime Minister’s Office, local authorities, as well as with representatives from Kyrgyzaltyn and Kumtor Operating Company, a group of protesters stopped the illegal roadblock of technological road to Kumtor mine. Currently, the mine and all business units of the Company operate in a regular mode.
Kumtor Gold Company provides jobs for over 4000 people.
99 percent of the Company full-time employees are Kyrgyz citizens, and this proportion is ever growing as the result of foreign managerial personnel being gradually replaced by national employees.
