KGC Employee Development & Administration Department with the cooperation of the Sustainable Development Department organized another training on “Road Safety and Traffic Rules” for the children of the company employees.

The training was held at KGC Guesthouse in Bishkek as part of the ‘Work Safe – Home Safe’ Program on December 9, 2017. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness in children and make them understand the importance of knowledge and observance of traffic rules and road safety.

At the beginning of the event, KGC Training and Development Advisor Norm Bobocel addressed the children with a brief welcome speech. In order to help the children perceive and remember information, the organizers made a colorful presentation and demonstrated in the form of a game the basic principles of compliance with traffic rules and the possibilities of using a ‘Stop Dialogue’ by children in their everyday life. In addition, they organized special contests for small participants, showed them educational animation films and arranged a sweet buffet at the end of the event.

KGC Sustainable Development Department provided gifts for the children. Each participant received a backpack with reflectors, as well as a set of reflective stickers for clothing. A special issue of the ‘In Touch’ Newsletter has been published specially for the event in the form of a comic strip dedicated to the traffic rules.
“It is important to always think about safety and explain it to the children. This cultural behavior can be cultivated in the whole country! We should care for safety, because this is the most important thing that helps to avoid problems and injuries,” Training and Development Advisor Norm Bobocel noted.

Further plans of the Employee Development & Administration Department and Sustainable Development Department include conducting such trainings for school-aged children of Jeti-Oguz and Ton regions of Issyk-Kul oblast.

Do the right (safe) thing, even when no one is watching!
