Kumtor Gold Company CJSC (KGC) actively participates in the national campaign “Jashyl Muras” (“Green Heritage”) within the framework of the year of mountain ecosystem protection and climate sustainability announced by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov. Within a few weeks Kumtor employees will plant about 2,000 trees on the territories of educational and cultural institutions of the country.

We decided to start from the capital. KGC Environmental Department and Bishkek office employees assisted to green the territory of the Mukash Abdraev State Specialised Music Boarding School and the “Altyn-Tuyun” Republican Children’s Engineering and Technical Academy. Areas for tree planting were agreed with the “Zelenstroy” municipal enterprise, and the KGC Environmental Department employees selected young plants, helped to prepare the holes and explained to the pupils how to water and care for the plants until they take root in a new place.

Tengiz Bolturuk, head of the National Holding Company “Great Nomads Heritage”, which manages KGC, took part in the clean-up event.

“Children who study at this music school today will plant trees, and then years later they can show their children and grandchildren the trees they have planted by themselves. It will be one of the best memories they will have of their school. Supporting talented youth is one of Kumtor’s priority areas. Our Company will also help these educational institutions to acquire the equipment, – said Tengiz Bolturuk.

According to Tengiz Bolturuk, in the future, both the National Holding and KGC intend only to develop and support for educational programs.

Director of the M. Abdraev Music Boarding School Isradin Amanbaev thanked the management of Kumtor:

– Today we have a wonderful event.  Head of the national holding and the KGC staff helped us to equip and green the territory. In addition, Kumtor will present the school students with the necessary wind instruments. We are very grateful to Tengiz Bolturuk. Our school is a unique educational institution in the country, which has been preparing professional musicians since childhood.

The second tree plantation point was the territory of the “Altyn Tuyun” Republican Children’s Engineering and Technical Academy. Here, Kumtor employees planted 120 needle leaf trees and a thousand live fencing plants.

To create a garden in the Belovodsk Children’s Psychoneurological Social Institution under the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Kumtor helped to purchase young plants of fruit trees. Tree planting took place with the participation of the Minister of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic Kudaibergen Bazarbayev and the staff of the department.
