07.10.2014 Kumtor Gold Company invested more than $1.9 million USD in the reconstruction of sections of Balykchi-Bokonbayevo-Karakol motor road

Renovation of the national road running along the southern coast of Issyk-Kul Lake was begun late in 2013 with reconstruction of the road between the villages of Bokonbayevo and Ton.

01.10.2014 Kyzgaldak Children’s Dance Group Performed at Tamga

A presentation concert of the Kyzgaldak children’s dance group took place last weekend at the Tamga House of Culture, Jety-Oguz district. Group members were dressed in costumes purchased with the support of Kumtor Gold Company. The gold miner contributed a total of 215,000 soms for the production of 30 new associated actors costumes.

30.09.2014 Update on Sary Moinok Pass – Fatal Incident

As an update on the earlier reports on the results of rescue operation at the avalanche site on the Sary-Moinok pass the following as occurred: At approximately 14:15 the rescue teams assisted by the helicopter have recovered the injured alpinist from the Sary Moinok Area but the second alpinist could not be revived.

On September 29th at 17:00, a group of six people, consisting of four alpinist-contractors, a communication contractor, and a staff member of KGC company, commenced the descent from the Sary Moinok Microwave Station after regular seasonal maintenance.

The first Spartacus Games of the Kyrgyz Miners and Metallurgists Union took place from 25 through 28 September, 2014, at Bosteri, Issyk-Kul province. The event was devoted to the 30th anniversary of the Union and 20th anniversary of the International Eurasian Federation of Metallurgists Unions.
