More than 45 employers, including employment agencies, took part in the job fair “Issyk-Kul 2016,” which was held last weekend in the central park of Cholpon-Ata town.
A total of about 1,000 vacancies both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad have been presented at the job fair.

The event was held as part of the Youth Entrepreneurship Program, implemented by the Eurasia Foundation in Central Asia (EFCA) with the financial support of Kumtor Gold Company. Partners of the event were the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, Plenipotentiary Representation of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in Issyk-Kul oblast, Bishkek Municipal Government for Promotion of Employment under the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, Association of Resorts of Kyrgyzstan, International Business Council and the Youth Banks Project.

Banks, mobile operators as well as other major companies presented their vacancies at the job fair. “We tried to bring here the largest employers from Bishkek. In addition, here you can find lots of seasonal vacancies from recreation houses and holiday hotels of Issyk-Kul oblast. Therefore, it is an excellent opportunity for young people to find a decent job and unlock their talents and skills,” EFCA Executive Director Dinara Musabekova said.

As part of the job fair, the employers made presentations and arranged master classes, where specialists taught how to write a resume and cover letters, as well as shared advices on successful interviews.

“Support of the youth and development of its potential is one of the most important priorities of the sustainable development strategy of our company, aimed at minimizing Kumtor’s influence on the regional economy by the moment of the mine closure. The job fair is one of the components of the Youth Entrepreneurship Project, which provides young people with an opportunity of temporary or permanent employment by creating jobs in the areas that do not depend on our enterprise,” noted Rodney Stuparyk, Vice President of Kumtor Gold Company, Risk Management, Compliance and Sustainable Development.
