Kumtor Gold Company informs about accident at the production

Kumtor Gold Company is saddened to give a notification of a fatal incident that occurred at the Kumtor Mine Site last night.
The accident took place at the Primary Crusher area involving one of the KGC employee who passed away as a result of this accident. The family members and the local authorities have been notified. Jety-Oguz Dept. of Interior investigation team has arrived to the mine site for investigation. Also, the special investigation commission of the State Inspection of Environment and Labor safety under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is established and expected to arrive to the mine site shortly. The company has commenced an internal investigation, and the findings will be released upon completion of the investigation.
Kumtor Gold Company provides jobs for over 4000 people.
99 percent of the Company full-time employees are Kyrgyz citizens, and this proportion is ever growing as the result of foreign managerial personnel being gradually replaced by national employees.
